Street Life, Sara, First Week
I’m glad that Jeff told me to use my imagination on the theme “Street Life,” because this small mountain town in Idaho doesn’t have a lot of street action mid-winter. Skiers, yes. Partiers, yes. Hanging out in the cold, not so much.
For this week, I captured one single, long alley that crosscuts the town of Hailey. While some of the alley was drive-able, other portions were merely a dumping ground for excess plowed snow.

All images were taken within 30 minutes of each other, allowing for uniform light. The post processing included adjusting for matching white balance, adjusting curves, and conversion to black and white. The black and white conversion was accomplished with a red filter overlay. Select images were additionally processed to bring through the original colors in certain areas.
February’s Challenge
This month Jeff, Melissa and I will be challenging ourselves with the theme “Street Life.” In order to focus more fully on the assignment, we will each be posting a series once a week instead of one image a day. First post coming soon!
New Challenge
We are working on cooking up a February challenge that will start on Monday. Details coming soon, so keep your eyes here!

SARA
Today Franconia and I took a hike in the Deer Creek drainage north of Hailey. She had a great time frolicking in the snow (or, as we say here, shredding the freshies).
Missy:
Tonight I caught the reflection of some lights in a puddle, its raining here tonight so there may be no more snow tomorrow, Sad, but my Dog and Cat will be so happy for that! I have such southern pets, its so sad!
